Confidentiality and the protection of personal information are essential values in maintaining the bond of trust that CPSC Main dans la main (hereinafter "Centre") maintains with children and their families, donors, partners and the general public.

We recognize that privacy is an essential element of the public's trust in us.

This Policy describes how the Centre collects, uses, communicates and retains personal information when you interact with us, whether by visiting one of our Web sites on which this Policy is posted, contacting us by e-mail or telephone, making a donation, becoming involved as a volunteer, sending us a job application or registering for an event organized by the Centre.

By providing us with personal information, you consent to its processing as described in this Privacy Policy, and you authorize the Centre, its third parties and service providers to process your personal information for the purposes set out below.

Information gathered and how it is used

CPSC Main dans la main is committed to respecting the confidentiality of the personal information it collects.

CPSC Main dans la main makes a commitment to the families and children it follows or who participate in its activities, to its donors and volunteers, to the participants in its events and to other related persons, not to divulge or market to third parties the information it collects. This information is used for communication purposes in connection with CPSC Main dans la main events.

We may collect certain personal information about you in the following circumstances:

    • When you contact usWe collect your login and contact information, including your name, phone number and e-mail address, as well as the information contained in your application.
  • When you make a donation or subscribe to our newsletter ;
    • When you apply to become a volunteer ;
    • When you apply for a job from the Centre, we collect the information contained in your application file;
    • When you interact with our social media accountslike Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram.
    • When you visit our websiteWe may collect certain technical information, such as cookies, about your browser or device and your use of the Web site. This information may include information about your visit to or use of our Web site, including the IP address of your device or computer and the browser you used to access the Web site.
    • When you register for events or training activitiesWe collect the information contained in your registration form.
  • Any other personal information provided.

 

Donate online or register for our activities

When you make an online donation, the transaction is carried out via a secure platform. CPSC Main dans la main has no access to your bank details.

We need to identify you and some of your contact details (e-mail and telephone number) in order to be able to communicate with you, if necessary, in particular for organizational matters in connection with our events. Your postal address is used to issue tax receipts for certain activities.

 

How do we use your personal information?

We may use your personal information for the following or other purposes with your consent or where authorized by law:

  • Respond to your requests when you contact us.
  • Process your donation and issue tax statements.
  • To facilitate the use of our website and ensure that content is relevant and presented in the most effective way for you and your device.
  • Produce anonymous statistics on our donors and website visitors.
  • Evaluate your candidacy for a volunteer position or a job.
  • Offer our training services online.
  • Communicate with you, for example to inform you of our services or to solicit you for a donation, subject to your right to withdraw your consent.
  • To provide information on developments at the Foundation and in our industry and to send invitations to events and training activities where you have opted to receive such information.
  • To comply with applicable legal requirements.

 

Who can access your personal information?

Your personal information may be shared with the following persons in order to achieve the purposes indicated in section above or otherwise with your consent:

  • Center employees and volunteers who have a real need to access information in order to carry out their duties.
  • Certain service providers who assist us in managing and soliciting donations, managing payments, sending e-mails, providing legal advice, delivering online training, recruiting and placing staff, hosting websites, storing data and providing IT support. These service providers have access to the personal information needed to perform their tasks, but may not use this information for any purpose other than fulfilling their mandate.
  • We may also share personal information in other situations, such as with government authorities, when required by law.

 

Your privacy rights

  • You have the right to access the personal information we hold about you and request that it be corrected if you find any errors.
  • You also have the right to receive more information about the Centre's processing of your personal information, including the categories of persons who have access to your information, the length of time they retain it and the source of the information.
  • You also have the right to withdraw your consent to the use of your personal information, subject to applicable legal or contractual obligations.

Data retention period

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes identified in this Policy, or longer if required by law. Thus, when the intended use of personal information has been completed, the information is destroyed, deleted or anonymized, unless we are required by law to retain it.

We strive to keep your personal information in Quebec. However, information stored on our service providers' servers may be located outside Quebec, for example in another Canadian province, and may therefore be subject to the laws of other jurisdictions, including any laws permitting access by government authorities.

Our Service may contain links to other sites that we do not operate. If you click on a third party link, you will be redirected to that third party's site.
